Weekly Wrap: 11/9

Sydney

  1. I’m in the middle of a huge project at work, and as a result, the past three weeks have been a total whirlwind – I’ve not had the time, or the brainspace, to blog. I haven’t been able to think – or even dream – about anything but work, with all things work taking over my brain around the clock. I have been putting in 14 hour days (between the office and home) during the week and then plugging away at home on the weekends, but thankfully things have calmed slightly and I’m finally coming up for air. I survived, and I can now resume my regular programming, hurrah!
  2. In the middle of my very hectic work schedule, we squeezed in a whirlwind trip to the Windy City (aka, Melbourne) to visit Niece and Nephew Posy given we hadn’t seen them since Christmas. When I first booked the the trip my work calendar had looked clear, but as is often the way, my personal and professional life got very busy all at the same time – which meant I was working on the flight to and from Melbourne, early in the AM before the kids woke, and late at night after they had gone to bed. Seeing the kids was worth it though – they are so grown, and I miss them so much! I’m not sure when we will see them next, but hopefully it won’t be such a long time between visits.
  3. Last weekend Mr Posy and I went to the Opera House to see Annabel Crabb and David Marr as part of the Festival of Dangerous Ideas. I feel like the ideas at the festival these days are maybe not so dangerous (more mainstream, or in some case, mundane… ahem…), but I enjoyed the talk all the same! In all fairness, we only went to the one talk this year (and we only attended one last year), so perhaps the other talks live up to the theme. I shouldn’t be so critical, because I do love the concept, and they always have a great lineup!
  4. Spring seems to have sprung! I am loving the warmer weather, and while boxes of Claratyne are flying off the shelves (my hayfever is in full-swing), I do love the familiar aroma of spring with all the flowers starting to bloom. Harbour City is even more beautiful at this time of year (until the rains start, that is…).
  5. Eight years on, I am still on the Apple bandwagon, and found myself pre-ordering the eyePhone 7+ on Friday night. When the 6+ was released I upgraded because I felt like I should; this time I am actually excited for the new phone, despite the controversial lack of headphone jack.
  6. Mr Posy and I went out for breakfast this morning, and it was so nice to sit outside soaking up the sunshine with coffee and my favourite person. I have been very absent even when I have been home the past few weeks on account of my thoughts being consumed by work, so it was really nice to take it easy this weekend and have some quality time with Mr Posy. It was such a beautiful day for a wander around the Harbour (pictured), and I am looking forward to more days like today as the weather continues to warm.
